Karagamii

I'm an industrial designer and paper creator with a 2.6 million follower platform.

Background:
As an origami designer and content creator during the peak of Covid, I engaged a 2.6 million follower audience on TikTok under the alias “Karagamii.” I created paper craft videos and tutorials and collaborated with companies like Riot Games, Sony, and Adobe. I was even invited as a special guest to OrigamiUSA's 2023 origami convention in New York to teach an original origami design.

Yoshimoto Cube Tutorial Series | Karagamii
I designed printable templates and instructional videos to recreate Naoki Yoshimoto's three polyhedral mechanical puzzle toys from the Museum of Modern Art's collection. After researching the geometry of each polyhedron, I was able to recreate them myself and posted the results to TikTok. These paper cube videos garnered over 45 million views in total, leading to a very high demand for instructional resources.
Fidget Cube Design + Tutorial| Karagamii
I designed printable templates and instructional videos of my paper fidget cube design. I pulled inspiration from origami designers like Tomoko Fuse and Valentina Gonchar for some of the mechanisms and I created multiple printable colorways for the project. The biggest challenge was creating comprehensive 1 min tutorials for each part as TikTok only allowed up to 60 second videos at the time.
Riot Games Collaboration| Karagamii
I developed an origami-inspired version of Aurelion Sol, a character in the League of Legends universe and created a step-by step instructional video series for fans of all ages to recreate at home. The reference image was likely impossible to create with traditional origami without becoming too complex for a general audience to recreate. Therefore, I created modular pieces that could be color-printed from an accessible PDF on the League of Legends website.
Dollar Cat
This is one of my first dollar origami designs inspired by the memory of my good friend Janessa Munt: designer of the famous Dollar Bull Dog. I taught this model at the 2023 OrigamiUSA convention in NYC.
Dollar "Bill"
This was my first dollar origami design, which uses a traditional origami shirt to hold it all together. Bill is comprised of 4 dollars total: head, shirt, arms, and pants. I like to leave him with the tip when going out to eat!
